Table Plugin

I am also interested in a plug-in solution that allows me to embed dynamic data displays on my client sites (bar charts, tables, line graphs, etc.) similar to this wordpress example:

If the question is “how will the data be input?,” (and also to the point, how/where will it be maintained/updated over time?) it seems to me that the functionality built into SS forms might be the best place to begin: connectivity to either a Google Form or use of a Zap/webhook connecting to, for instance, an AirTable base.

By way of an example with a Google Sheet, I was able over the last few weeks to work with Ricardo from https://createaclickablemap.com/ to create the dynamic/custom map on this page (password 1234), which is tied to a Google sheet that Ricardo set up based on CSV data I sent him. He provided the custom js to style/display the map responsively, and set me up with access to the sheet so that I can make edits as needed. The client paid for Ricardo’s time to develop the custom solution, and will move forward with a very affordable annual subscription to maintain access to/use of the tool and custom spreadsheet.

The map is just one example though - the best solution would also provide for all the other types of charts that are called for by larger data sets, like those we’re using in posts like this. Right now we’re just building everything in Excel and placing static PNGs on the client site. It’s very frustrating, especially when you consider that we’re dealing with US Government data that changes on a monthly basis.

Since I’m not a developer, my POV is strictly as a user of what’s provided to me…I don’t really understand how APIs, webhooks, JS, JSON and all these other things actually work, or what tools might exist that could be used as a dynamic/editable data source for such a plug-in, specifically when it comes to the Squarespace platform. But I’m certainly happy to follow clear instructions to implement them on clients sites as needed (as will-myers.com always provides!!!), OR to provide more examples or a clear brief to any developer who might be able to help get a custom solution in place for building dynamic data displays in Squarespace ;-)
